Hello, and thanks for taking a few minutes to learn more about Lifehouse.
If you are exploring a church, you are probably looking for more than service times and a list of ministries. You are trying to discern whether this could become a place where you can worship, grow, be known, and belong. I understand that—and I’m genuinely glad you’re here.
Lifehouse is a church family made up of people from across the greater Des Moines area. We come from different backgrounds, carry different stories, and find ourselves at different places in our faith. What brings us together is Jesus and our shared desire to bring hope and new life to all.
We are not perfect people, and we do not pretend to be. We believe the grace of Jesus meets us right where we are—but loves us too much to leave us unchanged.
Each Sunday, we gather to worship Jesus, open God’s Word, pray for one another, and make room for the Holy Spirit to work in our lives. But we also believe church is much more than attending a service. Following Jesus is a lifelong journey of being formed into His likeness, and none of us was meant to make that journey alone.
That is why we value honest relationships, meaningful community, wholehearted worship, biblical truth, generous service, and a faith that is actually lived. We want to be the kind of people who know one another, pray for one another, carry one another’s burdens, and encourage one another toward everything God has called us to become.
Perhaps you have followed Jesus for many years. Perhaps you are returning to church after some time away. Maybe you have been hurt, disappointed, or left with questions you are not sure you are allowed to ask. Or perhaps you are only beginning to wonder who Jesus is and what faith might mean for your life.
Whatever brought you here, you do not need to have everything figured out before you visit. We will not put you on the spot or ask you to pretend to be someone you are not. Come, take a breath, meet some people, and see what God may want to do next.
My hope is not simply that you would enjoy a Sunday at Lifehouse. My prayer is that you would truly know Jesus, experience the hope and new life He gives, find people who will walk with you, and become the person He is forming you to be.
