The first excuses we find in scripture come from the the Garden and Eden, the first man and woman. Adam made his excuse and blamed not only Eve, but God himself. Eve made her excuses and blamed the serpent. And suddenly, God's gift of responsibility has been cast aside. At the root of our excuses we find irresponsibility and guilt. What can we do with that?
