by Reflections from Lifehouse Leadership
In a world filled with platforms and personalities, there’s no shortage of people to follow. But when Jesus spoke about greatness, He pointed to the posture of a child—humble, teachable, dependent.
This week at Lifehouse, we explored what it means to live lives that others can follow with confidence. Whether we realize it or not, each of us influences someone. Our families, coworkers, friends, neighbors, and children are watching how we live, speak, and respond. That reality shouldn’t pressure us toward perfection—but it should prompt us toward intentionality.
Scripture reminds us that spiritual leadership starts with humility. Paul encouraged the Corinthians, “Follow me as I follow Christ” (1 Corinthians 11:1). This wasn’t about putting himself on a pedestal—it was about responsibility. Discipleship is more than passing on knowledge; it’s inviting others into a way of life shaped by Jesus.
At Lifehouse, we believe being an example worth following includes three key practices:
• Living above reproach, with integrity and faithfulness
• Creating environments where faith can grow
• Offering encouragement that strengthens and builds others up
These aren’t lofty ideals for pastors and leaders—they’re for all of us. Every believer has the opportunity to shape others through everyday obedience and ordinary faithfulness. And when we walk closely with Jesus, our lives begin to reflect Him more clearly.
This week, let’s ask: What is my life teaching others? And how can I reflect Christ more clearly in the spaces I lead and love?
