Messiah the Lord: God’s Love in Action
Merry Christmas, Lifehouse family and friends!
Today, as we gather with loved ones or perhaps find moments of quiet reflection, we celebrate the most extraordinary gift ever given—the birth of Jesus, the Messiah, the Lord. His arrival in Bethlehem over two thousand years ago wasn’t just an event in history; it was the fulfillment of a promise, the beginning of the greatest love story ever told.
From the moment God breathed life into humanity, His love has been pursuing us. Even when sin separated us from Him, His love never wavered. Jeremiah 31:3 reminds us of this truth: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.” That everlasting love reached its crescendo on the first Christmas morning when the Savior of the world was born.
As the angel announced to the shepherds, “The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem” (Luke 2:11). Jesus came as love incarnate, “love with skin on,” to bridge the gap between us and God. He came not just to live among us but to die for us, so that through His sacrifice, we could be reconciled to God. As Paul writes in Romans 5:8, “But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.”
This is the heart of Christmas: a love so great, so selfless, that it gave everything to rescue us.
But the story doesn’t end there. God’s love wasn’t just given to us; it’s meant to flow through us. This Christmas, as we celebrate the gift of Jesus, let’s remember to share that love with those around us. Whether it’s through acts of kindness, words of encouragement, or simply being present for someone in need, we have the opportunity to reflect the light of Christ in a world that so desperately needs it.
So, as you unwrap gifts today, take a moment to thank God for the gift of His Son. Let His love fill your heart and inspire you to share it with others. Because God’s love is not just for you—it’s through you.
Merry Christmas, and may the love of the Messiah bring peace and joy to your heart today and always.
With love and blessings,
Pastor Brian
