You Were Born Into Adam’s Story—But You Don’t Have to Stay There

You Were Born Into Adam’s Story—But You Don’t Have to Stay There

There’s a tension in Romans 5 that’s impossible to ignore. Paul draws a line from the very first man—Adam—to every person who’s ever lived. Adam sinned, and somehow, in a way we may not fully grasp, we all sinned in him. That’s hard to swallow. It offends our modern, Western ideas of fairness and personal autonomy.

But Paul isn’t just writing theology—he’s showing us a way out.

We all inherited something broken: sin, death, shame, guilt. It’s a legacy none of us asked for. But the gospel—the good news—is that through Christ, we are invited into a better legacy. A new story.

This isn’t just about doctrine. It’s about destiny.

Jesus didn’t come to patch up Adam’s story—He came to rewrite it. And if you’re found in Christ, you’re no longer defined by what Adam did. You’re defined by what Jesus has done.

That’s the heartbeat of Romans 5:12–21. One man brought death. One man brings life. And you get to choose which one defines you.

If grace reigns in your heart, let it shape how you live. Let it free you from shame, renew your identity, and remind you that you belong to the One who gave everything to rewrite your story.
